Charlotte Trippier shares epic St James' Park atmosphere as husband Kieran captains Newcastle win

Charlotte Trippier was in the stands at St James' Park as husband Kieran captained Newcastle United to an opening day win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

When Kieran signed for NUFC from Atletico Madrid in early 2022, Charlotte stayed in Spain for a month with the couple's children, before joining her other half on Tyneside. And, from the moment the whole family were on Geordie turf, Charlotte was a regular at St James' for a host of games, seeing Kieran score twice but then suffer an injury that hampered his season.

After giving birth to the Trippiers' third child a few months and enjoying a holiday in Ibiza with sister Rosie, Charlotte was back at SJP, along with over 52,000 others to see Eddie Howe's side score an opening day victory against Nottingham Forest as Premier League football returned for a new season.

The scores were levelled at 0-0 at half time, before Fabian Schar scored a screamer to put the Magpies ahead not long after the break and Callum Wilson sealed Newcastle's win in the 78th minute.

Charlotte watched the match with son Jacob, who wore a personalised United top and daughter Esme Rose and they were joined by Kieran's mum.

Just like all the games since the club takeover, there was a huge buzz around the ground before kick off and Charlotte shared footage of inside the ground on her Style up Sisters Instagram story as flags were held aloft for Hey Jude.

And, then as Newcastle celebrated victory, Charlotte posted a photo of her and her mother-in-law on her Insta grid, writing: "Who enjoyed that then. Me and Mama Tripps loved the first game back."

United fans who follow the account were quick to react, with one telling her: "Looking fabulous as always. Brilliant game and brilliant captain" and another writing: "Yes great result!!"
