Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk mascara review: is the new launch worth the money?

Nobody knows how to enhance a face quite like beauty doyenne, Charlotte Tilbury.

Whether it's her glow-imparting skincare products, her shimmering eyeshadows or her flawless finishing products, Tilbury knows how to help us make the best of what we've got.

And the great news for us is that now she's coming for our lashes with the latest addition to her Pillow Talk range.

The Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes mascara - which launches next week - is the third mascara launch from Tilbury but is by far its most notable lash-licking wand yet thanks to its dual ability to both lengthen and volumise lashes.

Is the Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes mascara worth the hype? (Charlotte Tilbury )

“This is a mascara for every lash – every eye shape, everyone, everywhere! It’s a Pillow Talk beautifying filter for the lashes of your dreams,” Tilbury says of the product.

But in a world which feels as though it hosts a string of consecutive launches promising extensive lash-lengthening, is this "miracle" mascara really worth the hype or the money? I took it for a spin to see for myself.

Mascara is truly my desert island product: the one that I could not and would not be without if you were to plonk me on a remote island in the middle of nowhere.

I often find mascaras leave you, after a few hours' wear, with more product flaked under your eyes than you do still left on your lashes, so I was interested to give Tilbury's latest launch a whirl. I'm a die-hard fan of her Colour Chameleon crayons (which are designed specifically to enhance individual eye colours) and her Dolce Vita palette which is the only one in existence not to host eyeshadows which make me look as though I've been thumped in the face.

Before and after (Charlotte Tilbury )

Promising to be both volumising and lengthening, the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara truly provides the same lift to lashes that a great push up bra does for your boobs. I wore it on a marathon of a day when I was doing a lot of mooching and pottering, which inevitably resulted in me drinking margaritas at the Cuban bar near my house. All that, with no make-up touch-ups and my lashes were still as gravity-defying as can be.

Apparently I'm not alone: according to consumer studies done by the brand, 96 per cent of people agreed that the mascara visibly lifted lashes and 93 per cent agreed that it gave lashes voluminous definition.

With polymers for extra lift and hold, keratin for conditioning, and a double-sided wand, it would appear that with this mascara, Charlotte Tilbury is coming to revolutionise our collective lash game.

The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk mascara is priced at £23 and launches on August 26. Stay tuned for its launch here.
