The NBA conducted its tiebreakers for the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday, settling ties for the No. 4, No. 8, No. 11, No. 19, No. 21 and No. 25 picks. The tiebreakers are determined by a coin flip.
The Charlotte Hornets entered the day tied for the No. 11 spot in the lottery with the San Antonio Spurs. In a good bit of fortune and possibly an omen for the offseason, the Hornets won the tiebreaker and will have the 11th spot in the lottery.
In the 11th spot, the Hornets will have an 8.5% chance of jumping into the top four spots with a 1.8% chance of landing the No. 1 draft pick.
Recent No. 11 draft picks include current Hornet Malik Monk, Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Pacer big man Myles Turner and Warriors guard Klay Thompson.
The Hornets have selected 11th overall twice, once in 2017 to select Monk and once in 2018 to select Gilgeous-Alexander before trading him for Miles Bridges on draft day.
