Susanna Reid loves nothing better than to scold Piers Morgan when he gets too ranty.
But today the Good Morning Britain presenter stuck up for her partner in crime after Charlotte Hawkins made a dig at him live on air.
The ITV programme was suffering with a technical failure which left Piers unable to hear anything from the production crew.
Taking out his ear piece, Piers admitted he couldn’t hear a thing with Susanna then trying it for herself.
“If I can’t hear anything, it will be total chaos,” he said.
A producer backstage even had to communicate via a loudspeaker as they tried to work out what the problem was.
It was then that Charlotte couldn’t resist taking a swipe at the grumpy host.
She said: “Yeah, the director is pointing out that if you got here more than 30 seconds before going on air it might work.”
Piers had a grumble about her comment while Susanna figured out that the earpiece was not working.
It was then Susanna seemed to make a dig at her co-presenter Charlotte, while looking away from her and at the camera, saying: “It had nothing to do with how early you got to the studio, it just doesn’t work.”
This isn’t the first time ITV has been plagued with sound problems. On This Morning yesterday, Ant Middleton’s interview with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield was interrupted while his mic was changed live on air.
