Charlotte Hawkins' awkward Piers Morgan comments on ITV's Catchphrase

Newsreader Charlotte Hawkins made comments about former Good Morning Briton host Piers Morgan on the ITV celebrity edition of Catchphrase.

When Catchphrase presenter Stephen Mulhern asked Charlotte in the pre-recorded programme how she copes with Piers on the breakfast show, the 45-year-old said: "That can be quite a challenge, he talks a heck of a lot."

Stephen, who worked on Britain's Got Talent when Piers was a judge agreed and added: "He talks too much."

But the 56-year-old won't be talking on either show after he sensationally quit GMB in March after he refused to apologise for comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle.

He claimed on the GMB that he did not believe her when she spoke about her personal mental health battle causing outrage among mental health charities and resulting in over 57,000 complaints to Ofcom - including a complaint from the Duchess herself.

Twitter user TheRealDeclanK1Bit said: "Tacky showing #catchphrase with Charlotte Hawkins talking about @piersmorgan on #GMB after what happened."

The mum-of-one also talked about how she often goes to bed at the same time as her young daughter to help with her 3am wake-up calls.

Stephen asked what helps get her through and she said "lots of tea".

*Celebrity Catchphrase is on ITV1 Saturdays at 6pm or available on ITV Hub
