Charlotte Dawson reveals boyfriend Matt will take her surname when they wed

Charlotte Dawson has revealed that her boyfriend Matthew Sarsfield will take her last name when they wed.

The new mum shared the news as the proud new parents revealed their infant son's first name to the world on Tuesday night.

Officially introducing Noah Dawson Sarsfield to the world on what would have been her legendary comedian dad's 90th birthday, Charlotte announced the plan.

She wrote to her father, who died when she was just eight months old: "We’ve kept a piece of you by keeping the name Dawson & Matthew is going to take it on when we get married."

Her post came as the pair celebrated Noah's birth by releasing new photos as he turned one week old.

One showed him lying in his cot, next to a copy of her dad's autobiography.

The Celebs Go Dating star wrote: "Happy heavenly birthday to my daddy & grandad Les to Noah.

"Not just today is tough, every day is not having you here.. especially important things in my life happening, like having this beautiful baby boyo."

Charlotte often celebrates her dad's life by visiting a statue of the comic which stands in Lytham St Anne's, and wrote: "Noah can’t wait to meet you at the statue, and to get to know you through all the videos and pictures."

The former Love Squad presenter welcomed the 7lbs13 baby a week ago, with Matthew at her side.

She told OK magazine on Tuesday: "Matthew and I are so obsessed, our world is now complete and we are excited to be a little family."

One of the most rewarding aspects for Charlotte has been seeing her beloved Matt as a father to their little Noah.

She notes that they "both melt my heart together".
