Charlotte Crosby has confirmed she is pregnant and set to become a mother for the first time.

The former Geordie Shore star shared the exciting news with fans on social media that she is expecting a baby with boyfriend Jake Ankers.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday evening, the 31-year-old posted a video montage which included a positive pregnancy test and Crosby going for a scan.

The I’m A Celebrity Winner also documented the moment she told her delighted family that she was with child.

Her mother Letita burst into tears as she embraced her daughter while dad Gary told Crosby’s partner: “I’ve never known her so happy Jake”.

Crosby captioned the video: “A moment I wasn’t sure would ever be mine is here, it’s mine (and Jake’s) and i couldn’t be happier to be sharing it with you all……I’m having a baby.”

Her pregnancy comes after she was left with compromised fertility when she suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2016.

She had been unaware of any issues at the time, believing the pain and bleeding was just down to a heavy period.

As a result of the ectopic pregnancy, the star’s fallopian tube had ruptured and was releasing toxins into her body.

Recalling the terrifying ordeal to Heat magazine, she said: “I didn’t know what the hell was going on and I was in so much pain. Then the X-ray showed how much damage had been caused.

“Because I’d left it a week, it’d torn open my fallopian tube and I was bleeding internally. The doctor said : ‘If you’d have left it any longer, you could have died.’"

Crosby needed an urgent operation to remove the damaged fallopian tube. Aside from being fearful of her own life, she also worried it meant she wouldn’t be able to have children in future.

“I was so scared that I wasn’t going to be able to have babies. I want to have children," she told the publication.

“They reassured me that I’d still be able to have children, I’d just have to try a bit harder".
