Charlotte Church teases Green Man appearance as festival gets go-ahead

Charlotte Church has shared her excitement after Green Man organisers announced the music festival would be going ahead in 2021.

Fans of The Welsh singer will be able to see Charlotte Church's Late Night Pop Dungeon in the Walled Garden after dark.

Posting on Instagram the 35-year-old shared the 2021 line-up and wrote: "Green Man is go! Can't wait to play in the Walled Garden after dark."

She added: "See you there my darlings."

Situated in the Brecon Beacons, Green Man is Wales' largest music festival but was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2021 it will take place between August 19 and 22 but to gain entry festival goers will have to demonstrate they've had two vaccinations or show a negative NHS lateral flow test within 48 hours prior to their arrival.

Green Man announced its decision to go ahead this year after the Welsh Government confirmed Wales would move into alert level zero on August 7 if the public health situation allows. You can read more about what that means here.

Posting on social media, the organisers wrote: "Green Man is GO! We're absolutely ecstatic to finally say that we can go ahead this August."

The statement added: "This decision was not taken lightly and was made following Wednesday's announcement by the Welsh First Minister, and after much consultation with the Welsh Government and Powys County Council..

"A gigantic thank you to everyone for your patience over the past year – all the support from our audience, crew, artists and the Welsh Government's Cultural recovery fund has got us here. Seeing your faces in the fields is going to be nothing short of incredible! Big love, GM."

Other Welsh acts include Gruff Rhys, Gwenno, and Catrin Finch while headliners this year are Little Dragon, Caribou, Mogwai, and Fontaines D.C.
