Charlotte Church goes busking in Wales but nobody recognises Voice of an Angel singer

Hoards of shoppers streamed past singer Charlotte Church when she was busking in Wales without batting an eyelid.

The Voice of an Angel star, who has sold more than 10 million records, was singing while playing a tambourine.

Standing in Cardiff town centre, the mum-of-three was wearing a red fluffy coat, green scarf and gold glitter on her face.

Charlotte, 35, was busking to raise money for her Awen Project learning centre, which she runs with her husband Jonathan Powell, who was playing the guitar.

They were joined by a group of children from the environmentally focused centre, who were trying to raise funds to buy a tent to keep warm while they were studying.

When asked how she felt about not being recognised, Charlotte told Wales Online : "It's been lush. It's all about the children.

"We are busking for a tent so January isn't so cold. At the moment it's fine throughout the day, it's not too bad."

Charlotte is a trustee of the "learning community", which is open three days a week.

The pupils, who are aged nine to 14, are home-schooled on other days of the week.

Charlotte asked one of the children she was busking with what she'd say to people who accuse her of being a hippy for going to the centre.

The girl replied: "I'd say you have to let people learn in their own time and their own way because everyone learns differently."

The Crazy Chick singer is a proud mum to Ruby, 13, and son Dexter, 12, who she shares with ex Gavin Henson.

She also has a baby daughter with her husband Jonathan.

The star is very protective of her children's identities and rarely unveils snaps.

However in March this year Charlotte proudly held her daughter up to the camera and gave her a kiss and cuddle when she appeared on an episode of the Sink The Pink Pop Tarts podcast.

Charlotte said at the time: "I would love to introduce you to my little baby. Covid realness honey."

Just one day earlier, Charlotte's friend Holly Willoughby had accidentally let slip that the singer had become a mum for the third time.

In March last year, the singer revealed her pregnancy news in a tweet to a fan at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

"At the time, Charlotte admitted she was "gutted" to pull out of a charity gig but had to be careful because she was pregnant.

She wrote: "Gutted to have missed it. I'm preggers so I'm airing on the side of caution in terms of virus. It looks like it was a great success. X."
