Charlie Nicholas predicts Rangers endgame as he names glaring Ibrox 'frailty' Michael Beale has failed to address

Charlie Nicholas reckons Rangers have major defensive issues after Michael Beale 's first competitive game in charge.

And reckons Allan McGregor could be the biggest problem of the lot for the Ibrox boss after the veteran goalkeeper's performance in the 3-2 victory over Hibs. Beale navigated a tricky clash with Lee Johnson's men as they came behind to secure the former QPR bosses first Scottish Premiership victory in The Light Blues dugout, and will look to make it two wins from two against Aberdeen.

However, former Celtic hero Nicholas believes problems could be on the way for Rangers having failed to the 40-year-old McGregor as he predicted his time would be up between the sticks at Ibrox when the season is over. He has challenged Beale to drop the experienced shot-stopper to rectify some ropey defending against the Easter Road side. Writing in his Scottish Daily Express column: "Michael Beale has made a good start but last week's 3-2 win over Hibs once again showed that Rangers need a new goalkeeper.

"If Allan McGregor isn't willing to come for across in his own six-box then he shouldn't be in the team. He ought to have retired at the end of last season and Rangers should have bought a new No.1.

"Beale does deserve credit for the second-half tactical change that allowed Gers see off Hibs. However, his team's defensive frailties remain the biggest concern."
