Charlie Nicholas makes Brendan Rodgers 'panic' claim as former Celtic star stunned by key Leicester flaw

Outspoken Charlie Nicholas admits Leicester's dodgy Premier League run after lockdown has left him stunned.

The Foxes' Champions League dream hangs in the balance with Brendan Rodgers' side winning only four wins in their last 15 Premier League clashes.

A host of pundits and supporters tipped Leicester to race out the traps after the enforced break but they remain winless since the restart.

And Nicholas reckons star pair James Maddison and Jamie Vardy's struggles means the former Celtic manager faces a real conundrum he must solve quickly.

Leicester have a three-point lead over Wolves and Manchester United in the race for a top-four finish but the 58-year-old insists the Irishman must figure out the "panic" engulfing the King Power Stadium at present.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the pundit said: "If anybody out of the top four could have benefited from the break, it would have been Leicester - they were lagging, struggling for goals, and could not get James Maddison on the ball.

"Are they in jeopardy of sliding out of the top four? I think they are.

"Brendan Rodgers would not have allowed them to soften their attitude, but all of a sudden they do not have goals in there.

"Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now level with Jamie Vardy, and you can see the frustration within those Leicester players. Maddison played well when he came on last time out but they are not getting the ball in the areas that matter.

"Teams are squeezing them and having a pop at them. Rodgers will question why they are panicking. Chelsea have caught up, while Wolves and Manchester United are catching up too."
