Charlie McCann's Rangers deal revealed as he undergoes medical ahead of Manchester United switch

Charlie McCann has undergone his Rangers medical ahead of finalising his move from Manchester United.

And the highly rated Irish midfielder is set to sign a three-year deal at Ibrox, reports the Daily Record.

The 19-year-old is in Glasgow for talks and has agreed a contract that will keep him at the Scottish Premiership champions until 2024.

A fee has been agreed and all that is required now is for United to rubber stamp the move.

However McCann won’t start training with Steven Gerrard’s first team squad until next year.

He’s expected to provide competition for midfield regulars such as Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield and Steven Davis.

Sporting director Ross Wilson is hunting players of all ages rather than just those who can contribute now as the forward planning in Govan continues.

McCann left hometown club Coventry for Old Trafford three years ago after joining the Sky Blues at just seven years old.

He netted five times in 30 appearances for United’s Under 23 side last season, making three assists.

McCann will eventually join Fashion Sakala, John Lundstram, and Nnamdi Ofoborh as the new additions to the Gers squad.
