Charlie Hunnam has revealed that he has no plans of proposing to his longtime girlfriend.
The Sons of Anarchy star appeared alongside Hugh Grant and Matthew McConaughey on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show Radio Andy. The actors are starring in The Gentlemen
"I've been with my girlfriend for 14 and a half years - 13 and a half years maybe," Hunnam told Cohen.
When Cohen asked his "POV about marriage" he responded that he feels "sort of indifferent, she does not feel the same, she's very eager to get married. You know, I'll do it because it's important to her, but I don't have any sort of great romantic feelings towards it," to which Hugh Grant advises, "I wouldn't go with that line when you pop the question."
His girlfriend Morgana McNelis is a jewelry designer with her own brand, Maison de Morgana. She recently posted pictures with her actor beau on Instagram and one a fan commented asking when they would get married.
Hunnan, 39, previously stood up for his girlfriend when she experienced online bullying in 2016. On a Facebook page, he posted a message after a group of his fans posted negative comments aimed at his girlfriend.
"I would respectfully ask you to stop doing this. She is an intelligent, beautiful, kind person who just tried to live a simple life and has nothing to do with the entertainment industry. If you want to talk s**t, talk s**t about me, leave her out of it. What is most confusing is that these negative and totally unprovoked attacks appear to be coming from the people who call themselves my fans," he wrote.
Hunnam was briefly married to actress Katharine Towne, who he met when they both auditioned for Dawson's Creek. They got married in 1999 in Las Vegas when he was only 18.
“First time I was ever in Vegas I got married, which didn’t turn out that well. I had known the girl for three weeks. We had fallen madly in love and it was the first time I had ever been in love," he said about the short-lived relationship. They were married for three years until their divorce was finalized in 2002. "Three terrible, painful, expensive years. I got the cats at the end of it, so that was good. There was a small victory," he said.
In 2017, he spoke to Men's Health about his current relationship and said to stay in shape he tries "to make love as often as I can."
