Charlie Day gives co-star Chris Pratt his top spots to visit in NI

Hollywood actor Charlie Day has recommended some of his top places to visit in Northern Ireland to his Super Mario Brothers Movie co-star Chris Pratt.

The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star was asked to give Pratt some inspiration for a visit to Ireland while on press for the upcoming animated movie based on the iconic Nintendo game.

Speaking to Joe.ie, Day took some time to talk about some of his favourite places to play golf in Northern Ireland, stressing the beauty of the North Coast.

He said: "think it's good to go to Northern Ireland, Chris is a golfer as am I.

"So I say hit Royal Portrush - pretty amazing course. Pretty beautiful part of the country.

"I think you've got to try to get on Royal Co Down if you can, I've actually not been there but I'm dying to play there.]

Charlie continued: "And honestly, just driving around the countryside and just seeing the green hills and stonewalls is a big part of the charm."

An IMBD summary for the new film reads: "A Brooklyn plumber named Mario travels through the Mushroom Kingdom with a princess named Peach and an anthropomorphic mushroom named Toad to find Mario's brother, Luigi, and to save the world from a ruthless fire-breathing Koopa named Bowser."
