Charlie Cresswell out for Arsenal match after dislocating shoulder amid Leeds United injury crisis

Young defender Charlie Cresswell had been expected to start against Arsenal today but is out after dislocating his shoulder in training yesterday.

Nineteen-year-old Charlie Cresswell was in the starting line-up for Leeds United in the 2-1 home defeat to West Ham in September and came on as a substitute against Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

With first-choice centre-backs Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk both already out, and Robin Koch recovering from illness, many predicted that Cresswell would make his second start of the season this evening.

However, the Daily Mail reported during the night that the centre-back, who grew up in York, dislocated his shoulder while training in preparation for today's match.

As well as missing first-choice centre-backs, Bielsa is also without defender Junior Firpo, who picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Manchester City and must now serve a one-match ban.

The choices for Marcelo Bielsa are becoming increasingly limited, with Rodrigo nursing a sore heel and the club saying he has been instructed to reduce his activity.

Patrick Bamford injured his hamstring against Brentford and is being assessed daily, having already missed a lot of the season due to injury.

Kalvin Phillips also injured his hamstring against Brentford. Following treatment the club's medical staff have him on a recovery plan but a return date is not yet known.

Daniel James picked up an abductor injury against Manchester City. His return date is unknown.

Jamie Shackleton also went off against City with an achilles injury. Bielsa confirmed after the match that he would not be available against Arsenal.

Meanwhile the fit and walking wounded Leeds can muster will face Arsenal at 5.30pm tonight.
