Manchester United could look to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.
The window opened yesterday, with some Premier League teams already confirming deals - whilst others continue to identify potential targets.
Any signing would be interim manager Ralf Rangnick's first since joining the club, who will take over in a consultancy role while identifying new potential players - a role he had with RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg for several years.
Here is a round-up of the latest rumours linking players to United.
United and Liverpool to battle for Leeds United teenager
Manchester United and Liverpool are said to be battling to sign Leeds United teenager Charlie Cresswell.
The 19-year-old defender recently broke into the side, having made four Premier League appearances so far.
The Sun have reported that both clubs have made their interest known to Leeds, who are highly unlikely to let Cresswell leave - unless they're to be relegated.
Cresswell is currently contracted until 2025.
'Meeting arranged' with Julian Alvarez's agent
Manchester United continue to be linked with Julian Alvarez ahead of a potential move, with the latest reports stating a meeting has been arranged on Alvarez's future.
Football Italia cite a vague report from TyC Sports claiming Inter, Milan and Juventus are all interested in a deal for the River Plate 21-year-old this month.
However, they warn United are favourites for a transfer and even suggest they have contacted his agent Fernando Hidalgo to express their strong interest in the player and to arrange a meeting.
It's suggested a transfer meeting will take place in the coming weeks with United supposedly willing to pay the player's €20m release clause.
United lead race for Boubacar Kamara
Finally, United are leading the race to sign Boubacar Kamara, according to a report.
La Repubblica state Roma have joined the hunt for the Marseille midfielder but warn the Serie A side are still behind United in line to sign him this year.
United have been rumoured to be interested in Kamara for several months.
He is set to become a free agent on July 1.
