Charlie Cox’s parents watched everything Daredevil related on Disney+ other than ‘Born Again’

Daredevil: Born Again brought Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock. The show is currently in the middle of filming season 2 and Cox is doing a bit of press about the show. Which means talking about how his parents felt watching it.

Cox was on Jimmy Kimmel Live when he shared a sweet story about his parents. Like many millennials, we know the struggle of trying to help our parents use technology. Kimmel asked if his family was back in the United Kingdom since Cox now lives in New York. Cox confirmed it and said that his parents tried to watch Daredevil: Born Again but took on some side quests along the way.

Like many of us, Cox told Kimmel he has to walk his parents through every step of setting something up. Which includes Disney+ so they can watch his work. His parents told him they were going to watch so he called the next day only for them to describe the original run of the show. Cox told them they needed to watch the new season and so they did. Or well, they thought they did.

Cox shared that they called him and said that this could not possibly be right because the actor playing Matt Murdock didn’t look like him. That’s because they wanted Daredevil, released in 2003. “They go, ‘This can’t be right!’ I was like, ‘What?’ and he goes, ‘Doesn’t even look like you!’ I’m like, ‘Right, that is Ben Affleck.’”

To be fair to Charlie Cox’s parents, it is a little complicated. If you’re on the beat of things, you know that Daredevil: Born Again is the continuation but that’s not necessarily common knowledge. If you type in Daredevil, you have to know which thing you’re getting ready to watch.

So the fact that they just went through all the Daredevil options on Disney+ is kind of hilarious. I hope they enjoyed Jon Favreau’s Foggy Nelson.
