From surveillance implants to eye-tracking adverts, Black Mirror features a range of creepy dystopian technologies.
Now it seems that Charlie Brooker , creator of Black Mirror , has had a taste of the series in his real life.
Konnie Huq , who is married to Mr Brooker, has revealed that the couple’s son accidentally called him ‘ Alexa ’, after becoming so accustomed to Amazon’s smart assistant.
Speaking to the Sunday Times Magazine, Ms Huq said: “We did have Alexa, but we switched her off.
“One day our son came in and said: ‘Alexa – I mean Daddy,’ and it was oh, my goodness!”
While it’s pretty hilarious that this happened to Mr Brooker of all people, this is by no means an isolated incident.
Back in March, Clio Change, a Story Artist from Vancouver, posted footage of her baby saying its first word - Google .
In the video, Ms Chang’s partner, who remains unnamed, can be seen carrying the baby around its bedroom, before speaking to a Google Home speaker.
He appears to say: “Hey Google, play the baddy song.” But before the speaker has time to respond, the baby also says ‘Hey Google.’
