Charlie Bird has thanked the public for their support after his recent visit to Bloom.
The 73-year-old previously reported he would raise awareness for suicide prevention charity The Samaritans at the annual gardening festival. Charlie volunteered behind a stand for a few hours in order to highlight the charity's important work.
Charlie was snapped enjoying the sunshine while at the busy Phoenix Park event. He shared on Twitter that he was "humbled" by the support he received on the day from attendees.

He wrote: "In the space of a couple of hours I had my photo taken with well over a hundred people. The love, kindness and affection they showed to me just blew me away. I love you all."
Charlie has campaigned for The Samaritans following his diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease in 2021. The veteran journalist helped raise vital funds for the suicide prevention charity through his 'Climb with Charlie' campaign last year.
He has also spoken candidly about his struggles with the rare disease. Charlie sustained injuries in two separate falls in recent months and was hospitalised on both occasions in St Michael's Hospital in Dun Laoghaire.
