Charlie Adam's 'easy' Celtic away day claim comes back to haunt him after Dundee demolition

Cheeky Charlie Adam has seen a pre-season quip about Celtic resurface after Dundee were thumped at Parkhead.

It was a tough afternoon for the Dark Blues skipper as the newly promoted side were handed a six-goal thrashing at the hands of Ange Postecoglou 's men.

The former Rangers man couldn't lay a glove on an impressive Celtic midfield before he was hooked by James McPake.

It has seen some punters bring up an interview ahead of the new season where Adam predicted a more comfortable afternoon in Glasgow's east end.

Ahead of the season opener, Adam told Sky Sports: "I also look forward to things like the second game of the season — a nice easy game away to Celtic.

Rangers were unstoppable last season but we will look to give them a game too, and have a go at everybody.

“We’ve got to take that momentum of winning football matches into the season.”

Punters have been keen to give Adam a bit stick, pointing to the prediction on social media.

One user added: "Wonder if Charlie Adam enjoyed that easy second game of the league away to Celtic."

Another Celtic fan tweeted: "Charlie Adam was right about today’s game being easy so fair play."
