Charlie Adam paints Celtic and Hibs doomsday scenario as he fears dreaded Nicola Sturgeon order

Concerned Charlie Adam believes any positive Covid cases at Hibs could spell disaster for the Premiership season.

The former Rangers midfielder reckons that an outbreak at Easter Road following their clash with Celtic could see the Scottish Government call off the Premiership season.

Hibs had lodged a request for another round of testing following Christopher Jullien 's positive test after the controversial Dubai trip, but were denied with the SPFL threatening sanctions if they refused to play.

Following on from the top flight clash, every division below the Championship has been called off for three weeks.

Adam, speaking on the PLZ Football Show, feels it is now just a waiting game to see if there is any bad news at the Hibees in the coming days.

He said: "The worry now is that the Hibs players, if any of them catch it, from that group of players now it could be curtains for the league.

"I think Nicola Sturgeon could take strong action on it. Hibs were desperate for it not to go ahead but were told that it must go ahead, so like we have said it's the power of the big ones that takes its toll again.

"I think it's just a waiting game now to see if any Hibs players have got the Covid from any of the Celtic players. It was strange to see so many out of the game."
