Charlie Adam lays into Celtic star Jeremie Frimpong and insists Hoops need 'brand new team'

Charlie Adam has told Celtic they need an entire new team in the summer and insists Jeremie Frimpong isn't good enough for the club.

The former Rangers midfielder reckons the right back isn't at the level many believe and regularly gets caught out defensively.

He did praise him for his attacking effort but the Dundee star hasn't been impressed by his overall performances, at a time when he's been praised elsewhere.

The former Manchester City youngster has been linked with big money moves to Roma but that hasn't done enough to convince Adam that he's capable of playing at a higher level.

The ex-Liverpool playmaker also fired a warning to the entire club and reckons players will look to get out of Celtic in the summer if they can't claw their way back into the title race.

He told PLZ Soccer: "Your Frimpong, I don’t think he’s good enough.

"Yes, he’s good going forward but defensively I don’t think he’s at the level everybody thinks he is.

"They desperately need a right winger with James Forrest coming back from an injury, and I think he’s been a massive loss to them.

"If you look at the number of players who might want away if they lose 10-in-a-row, you’re looking at a brand new team.”
