Charlie Adam has implored Celtic fans to "come for me again" if they disagree with his lowball Odsonne Edouard valution.
Earlier in the week Dundee and former Rangers star Adam insisted the striker would struggle to fetch a double-figure fee and suggested £5m was more realistic.
But Parkhead chiefs are holding out for as much as four times that with Brighton leading the pack of clubs interested in the French frontman.
With just one year left on his deal and the possibility of leaving for nothing, it's stick or twist time in the final weeks of the summer window for Ange Postecoglou, Dominic McKay and the rest of the club's decision makers.
Speaking on the PLZ Football Show, Adam said: “You’re still going to get £5million to £8million for Edouard. It’s still not going to be double figures.
“The Celtic fans can come for me again if they like."
Adam wasn't done there however as he turned his attention to Hibs defender Ryan Porteous.
The 22-year-old is one of the brightest prospects to come out of Easter Road in some time but while he can be an excellent defender on his day a penchant for rough challenges and mistakes sometimes leaves the Hibees in the lurch.
Speculation has surrounded his future since the last winter window with English sides such as Millwall credited with an interest while a move to Turkey has also been mentioned as a possibility.
Porteous and Hibs crashed out of the Europa Conference League on Thursday night and Adam said: "What do you want for Porteous? £5million? A million quid is enough.
“It’s what finances Hibs’ thinking, can we afford to lose Doig because we’ve got Stevenson, can we keep Porteous.
“He might come back to a level that we think he can go again.
"He has things to learn and improve. He's a big centre-back who can play but he's got a mistake in him at times.
"It's just about how long Hibs want to keep him, or if they get the right bid they might sell him."
