Charlie Adam claims Celtic can't accept Rangers title win as he reacts to 'tittle tattle' Twitter jibe

Bullish Charlie Adam claims Celtic are struggling to accept Rangers' title win after a Twitter jibe at chairman Douglas Park.

The Hoops appeared to aim a social media rebuke at Ibrox supremo Park after he described the club as the "other half of the Old Firm".

The Parkhead club have insisted they're "not half of anything" last night after a letter from Park to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon criticised the Scottish Government's handling of the Premiership victory celebrations.

Supporters broke strict lockdown rules by attending illegal mass gatherings at Ibrox and George Square.

However, former Light Blues midfielder Adam told the PLZ Football Show believes the response shows their rivals are struggling to come to terms with Rangers' success.

The Dundee star urged both sides of Glasgow's divide to come together to stop any further breaches on Old Firm derby day.

Adam said: “It’s a bit of tittle tattle now at the moment.

"Rangers are on this cloud, on cloud nine and have this buzz around winning another championship again after so long, and Celtic are finding it hard to accept it.

"I think it’s a bit of tittle tattle from both and I think both clubs have to get together, round the tale, bang their heads together and stamp this out for the Old Firm game. We need to do everything we can.

‘We can only learn from the mistakes we’ve had and we won’t know what the consequences of the gatherings are for another two or three weeks and if the Covid rises again.

“I think the clubs have to get round the tables, or Zooms and say 'as the biggest clubs in Scotland we join together so no fans come near the stadium'.”
