Charli xcx just won’t rest — and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Fresh off the back of her award-winning brat era, the pop diva has announced her next big project: an A24 movie called The Moment.
Yep, Charli’s going full film girlie now — writing, producing, scoring, and starring in what’s shaping up to be a neon-drenched deep dive into fame, pop culture, and probably herself.
The Moment is co-written by Aidan Zamiri and Bertie Brandes, based on an original idea by Charli. It follows a rising pop star preparing for her first arena tour while trying to navigate the pressure cooker that is pop stardom in the social media age. So, in other words… Charli is playing Charli.

Who is in the cast of The Moment?
The cast list reads like someone spun a chaotic pop culture wheel and said, ‘Yes, all of the above’.

Deadline reports that The Moment stars Kylie Jenner (yes, she’s following in her sister Kim‘s acting footsteps), Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, Arielle Dombasle, and Rish Shah.

The supporting lineup also includes Charli’s long-time collaborators A.G. Cook and Shygirl, plus a mix of actors, models, and internet it-girls like Hailey Benton Gates, Trew Mullen, and Mel Ottenberg.
Cook — who produced brat — is also writing original music for the film, which feels extremely on brand given that his and Charli’s work together helped define the hyperpop era.
A24 is involved, so prepare for maximum aesthetic
Charli is producing The Moment under her Studio365 label alongside David Hinojosa from 2AM. Executive producers include Brandon Creed, Mikey Schwartz-Wright, and Zach Nutman. The whole thing is being released by A24, which means you can already expect a trailer drenched in green lighting, a synth-fuelled score, and at least one slow pan over someone crying into a mirror.
Is there a trailer for The Moment?
No official trailer yet, but a teaser has already dropped on Charli’s socials, featuring a remix of “I Love It” by Charli and Icona Pop. It ends with the words, “I just want this moment to last forever”. And SAME!
When is the release date for The Moment ?
Unfortunately we do have to wait until 2026 to get our new dose of brat energy with this movie, but with silly season right around the corner, we’re basically in next year anyways.
Charli’s film era is coming in hot
This isn’t Charli’s first time on a film set this year. She’s also appearing in Pete Ohs’ Erupcja, which premiered at TIFF, and Julia Jackman’s 100 Nights of Hero.
On top of that, she’s providing new music for Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights, starring Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie, which is already making us fall in love with her movie era again and again.
As the (musical) brat era comes to an end, it makes sense that Charli would use film as her next playground. The Moment is being described as part pop fantasy, part self-reflection — because who better to critique fame than someone who’s been redesigning it in real time?
Pop divas, this one’s for you.
