Charli xcx’s style has always looked like it’s been somewhere before.
Whether it be an after-hours all-nighter or headlining a festival, the pop star’s low-key, neutral, yet designer ensembles tend to be a little scuffed, a little scorched, but fully lived in - much like her favourite pair of Converse.
Now, in celebration of her Brat era (and the cultural takeover that came along for the ride), the pop star has collaborated with Converse to put her own, bratty spin on the perennially iconic Chuck Taylor All Stars
Launching August 5, the Converse x Charli xcx By You drop offers a customisable version of the classic Chuck. The catch? It’s only available for three days.

Built on the brand’s existing By You platform, the collection is co-designed by Charli and channels her “confident, irreverent, and unapologetic” approach into a highly specific, carefully worn-in look.
Fans can start with one of five curated colourways — Black and White, the two Charli wears most often, or muted tones like Brown Rice, Winter Sky, and Bridal Rose. From there, it’s on to the details. Trompe-l'œil distress prints mimic ripped canvas and faded tones, while burnished rubber foxing, discoloured laces, and washed midsoles recreate the kind of Converse that’s survived a few too many club floors. It’s grunge nostalgia meets hyper-specific pop branding.
License plates and outsole graphics nod to Brat-era references, with options like “xcx,” “365,” “angel,” “party girl,” and “brat” available across patches and soles. A heel charm consisting of a carabiner attached to either a lock or key etched with “brat” ties it all together. We’ll let you decide exactly what the key means, or whether it has any practical uses beyond design.
The campaign, shot by Petra Collins, underlines the hazy, raw glamour that defines both Charli and the collection.

This isn’t Charli’s first step into product collaborations - she’s done the unexpected (CC: those Samsung earbuds), and she’s made genius collaborative moves (an Aperol Spritz sponsorship throughout the summer), but Converse feels personal.
This drop doesn’t reinvent Chucks so much as reframe them through her lens. With adidas having cornered the “it-trainer” market for the last few summers, the timing really couldn’t be better.
If history and Charli’s fandom is anything to go by, you’ll want to move fast.
