Charles Woodson: “This is the year Michigan beats Ohio State”

At some point, if you keep predicting something that has only two variables, you’re going to be right. At least, that’s what former Michigan defensive back and Heisman winner Charles Woodson is hoping for according to a story from MLive.com’s Tanya Moutzalias.

While in Ann Arbor promoting his the launch of his new wine collection called “intercept” (yes, it’s a thing), Woodson doubled down on his prediction that the Wolverines would get the Buckeye monkey off their back last year, by rubbing the genie lamp once more for 2019.

“It better be,” said Woodson. “We’ve been too close. Last year I feel like was an anomaly. That wasn’t indicative of who we are and how hard we work at winning football games, so I’m looking forward to this year because I think this will be the one.”

Many national experts believe there’s some merit to Michigan’s chances this season. It has a talented quarterback in Shea Patterson and a bushel of talent on the offensive side of the ball around him.

After Woodson famously guaranteed victory year using bad math before last college football season, Ohio State went out and rolled Michigan like cheap pizza dough, 62-39. It was the fourteenth win out of the last fifteen for the Buckeyes in the series, and here we are again with former players and media predicting a win once again. Remember, we heard if not this year (2018), then when last season.

But Woodson didn’t stop there. He went for predicting a perfect season for an imperfect situation.

“My prediction is that we go undefeated,” he said. “We make it to the playoffs, we win the championship. Bam, that’s it, you heard it here first.”

Here at Buckeyes Wire, we think he’s taste testing a little too much of his new wine collection at the wrong time.
