Charles Siebert has died aged 84 from Covid-related pneumonia, his daughter has confirmed.
The Hollywood actor, best known for his role as Dr Stanley Riverside II in Trapper John M.D., starred in a number of films through the 70s and 80s.
His daughter Gillian Bozanic told The Hollywood Reporter that he died on May 1 at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center.
He was born on March 9, 1938 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
He then went on to study acting at university before he landed his first role on Broadway in 1967.
The actor appeared there six more times in shows like Galileo, Jimmy Shine, and The Gingerbread Lady.


As well as the stage, he also made several appearances in soaps like Search for Tomorrow and As the World Turns.
It was in 1979 that he landed the role as Trapper John on the MASH spinoff.
He also starred in The Other Side of Midnight, Blue Sunshine, and Coma.
The actor also worked as a TV director had his name on the credits of Knots Landing, Pacific Blue, Silk Stalkings, Pensacola: Wings of Gold, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess
In his later life he lived in Sonoma County in California where he worked at a local theatre as an actor and a director.

He leaves behind his second wife Kristine Leroux and his children Gillian and Christopher.
Charles' first wife Catherine passed away in 1981 following a battle with breast cancer when she was just 44 years old.
The couple also had a son called Charlie who died in 2020.
