Charles N'Zogbia is confident that Steve Bruce will get it right at Newcastle United

Former Newcastle United winger Charles N'Zogbia has backed Steve Bruce to get it right on Tyneside - despite the frosty reception he's received since the news of his appointment was confirmed.

The Frenchman played for Bruce at Wigan Athletic and has had first hand experience of his style of management.

N'Zogbia told the Chronicle: "Steve Bruce was one of the best managers I have worked with.

"He has the passion and man management skills of Sir Bobby Robson for me.

"He's a true manager and will always do the best for the club to succeed.

"He has bought players and developed them like Antonio Valencia, Andrew Robertson and Harry Maguire and he also got Hull to the FA Cup final when they narrowly lost out to Arsenal."

Now N'Zogbia is watching on with interest to see how the Bruce era pans out.

He added: "He's been selected to manage Newcastle now and that's a big achievement.

"He will make sure for the fans that the club will do anything in their power to make Newcastle shine again - how it used to be.

"I am 100% behind and wish him all the best."
