Charles Barkley loves golf, but for years he possessed what may have been the ugliest golf swing on the planet. Barkley suffered from an awful hitch in his swing, which made it almost impossible for him to put the ball in play effectively.
He still played plenty of celebrity events despite his swing issues, which is admirable, but his swing was so bad he landed a Golf Channel reality show where a swing coach tried (and failed) to fix his mechanics. Chuck was hard to watch.
Since making a radical change to his grip, however, Barkley is looking like a completely different person on the golf course. On Friday, Barkley teamed up with Phil Mickelson to face Steph Curry and Peyton Manning in The Match: Champions for Change – and Barkley hit each of his first two fairways off the tee.
