Charles Barkley ripped Anthony Davis for the Lakers’ struggles and fans agreed, but they’re not actually right

Charles Barkley is not one to ever shy away from giving you his opinion on something — literally anything. He just happens to talk about basketball a lot.

And when he gives basketball opinions, he gives them with force. Conviction. If he thinks you stink, he will absolutely let you know it. Without hesitation.

Anthony Davis got that treatment on Tuesday night.

The Lakers were playing against the Celtics and up 56-53 at the half. But Barkley decided it was time for him to tell Anthony Davis about himself. So that’s exactly what he did.

Over the course of a rant that lasted about a minute, Barkley defended Russell Westbrook and Frank Vogel — who absolutely has caught more flack than he deserves — and tore down Davis.

“Listen, Anthony Davis, you’ve got to play better. I said on the first night if the Lakers were going to be any good it was all going to be on you. Has nothing to do with Russell, has nothing to do with LeBron and the rest of them old ass geezers they putting out there…I blame Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis, you know I like you as a person. But you ain’t doing what you’re supposed to do.”

And there were plenty of fans who agreed with this sentiment from Barkley. They want more from Davis.
