During the broadcast of Game 2 of the Rockets-Jazz series, Charles Barkley said James Harden is the best offensive player he has seen.
“He is the best offensive player I’ve seen. Period,” Barkley said.
But Chuck then added: “Of this generation.”
It’s hard for Sir Charles to fully give him the title of best offensive player ever with the likes of Kobe Bryant, who he mentioned as fantastic scorer.
Harden had 25 points, seven boards and seven assists at the half. He finished the game with a triple-double: 32 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Rockets are up 2-0 in the playoff series heading to Salt Lake City for Game 3.
At one point in the first half, Harden showed off his offensive skill to cross up Jazz guard Ricky Rubio into next week. Rubio had no idea what was going on.
Harden’s offensive mastery also helped guys like Chris Paul, P.J. Tucker, Eric Gordon and Clint Capela get going. If the Rockets continue to get this Harden going forward, their chances at a title are going to be pretty high.
