Charles Barkley hilariously teed off during his introduction at American Century Championship

Charles Barkley went into the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament as a popular pick to finish in dead last. And by the start of Sunday’s final round, the NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst was in 87th place (out of 90) and ready to get his day over with.

It’s typical at these celebrity golf tournaments (or any golf tournament, really) for the golfers to get welcomed with an introduction at the opening tee. You’d normally wait for the introduction to finish because nobody wants to hear a bunch of talking during a swing.

Barkley didn’t care.

This was how he handled that excellent intro at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.

Barkley teed off before the dude could even say, “Sir Charles Barkley!” He didn’t need a practice swing either. This is a pace of play I can get behind.

On the bright side, Barkley has appeared to lose that hitch in his swing — something he’s worked on meticulously.

Still, it wasn’t a great overall showing for Barkley. He finished in 88th place out of 90 competitors. Some guy named Tony Romo won his second straight American Century Championship.
