Charity shop accidentally sells woman's designer handbag

A charity shop accidentally sold a woman's £564 designer handbag when she left it behind in the changing room.

The woman, who has not been named, left her Balenciaga handbag in the changing room of an RSPCA charity shop, reports The Mirror.

The shopper was reported to be in a rush because she was with her two children.

When she realised she had forgotten the bag and went back to get it she found that it had been sold.

Speaking to Ham&High, the mum said: "They said someone asked how much is the bag.

"I believe when you sell something in a shop you know what you have – and there has to be a price tag. You can't sell something just like that, especially when it's a designer product."

The woman says her keys and other items were in the bag, although the shop claims it was empty.

A spokesperson for the RSPCA did not confirm how much the bag was sold for but said staff at the store made a "very genuine error made in good faith".

An appeal has since been launched for the customer that purchased the bag to come forward so it can be returned to its rightful owner.

The RSPCA added that it has launched an investigation and contacted the Met Police, which said "enquiries continue".
