Charity produces map for cyclists during Tube strike

(London Cycling Campaign)

A London cycling charity has created a map to help commuters work out the safest way into work during the Tube strike.

London Cycling Campaign, a membership based charity, has created an interactive map where commuters can type in their location, destination, desired speed and the map will plot the best route for them.

The map will be useful for tomorrow’s strike when members of four unions are expected to walk out and bring London’s Underground to a grinding halt from 6.30pm on Wednesday.

RMT, TSSA, Unite and Aslef are campaigning over the implementation of night Tubes – as announced by London Mayor Boris Johnson – which they claim will adversely affect their members work-life balance.

The map also shows users the number of calories burnt on the journey, the level of ‘quiet’ – and warns cyclists of the dangerous junctions or busy roads they may wish to avoid en route.
