Charity offer £1000 reward for information after vile hedgehog killings in Wakefield

The British Hedgehog Preservation Society is offering a £1000 reward to catch a pair of teens seen cruelly attacking and killing a mother hedgehog and her babies.

Teens seen stamping on baby hedgehogs and killing mother with a brick that two teens in Wakefield stamped on a number of baby hedgehogs and crushed their mum with a brick.

Now, the charity are offering to pay the substantial reward to anyone with information that leads to the prosecution of those responsible.

Speaking to LeedsLive yesterday, BHPS chief executive Fay Vass said: "Cruelty and killing of hedgehogs is sadly nothing new, but this is certainly one of the most callous and brutal attacks I have heard of.

"We would like to see those responsible receive the fullest most severe punishment possible for carrying out such a cowardly attack."

The incident is said to have taken place on a path near the City of Wakefield Golf Club, close to the M1.

The crime number for the incident is 13190237156 and if you know anything about it you can call 101 to report it.
