The parents of an Airdrie man who passed away after suffering from a rare genetic disorder are looking to once again give something back to the charity that supported him through his brave battle.
Teresa and Gordon Robertson are holding a fundraiser in aid of CHAS next month – and tickets are available now.
As previously reported in the Advertiser, the couple’s son Paul was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome shortly after his birth and was only 25 when he died in 2016.
Teresa and Gordon collected £2500 for CHAS during a charity night held in Airdrie working men’s club last year – and now they are returning to the same venue for another fundraiser.
The event, which takes place from 7pm until late on Friday, September 20, will include cabaret, bingo, prize giveaways and raffles.
Teresa, 56, said: “The charity night last year was brilliant and we received wonderful support from the public, local businesses who donated prizes and our family and friends.
“Everyone who came along had great fun and Gordon even dressed like a woman for a musical performance!
“We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of everyone who donated funds.
“Hopefully we get another good turnout at this year’s event and we welcome along Monklands residents to have a great time while raising funds for CHAS.
“The charity provided invaluable support to Paul and the family during his brave battle and we want to continue to help them out.”

Teresa added: “My daughter recently completed a half-marathon in London which raised £700 and this will be added to the final total.
“If we can beat last year’s amount then that would be great.”
