Charity launch for automotive specialist as it raises money by the mile

Automotive logistics specialist GBA Group is raising money by the mile, after launching a long-term partnership with Children with Cancer UK.

The Grimsby-headquartered company has designated two of its new vehicle transporters to the cause, with funds donated by the firm for every journey.

GBA employes more than 850 people around the country, handling more than two million vehicles a year through port terminal operations and award-winning distribution.

Cale Judah, second generation managing director, said: “We are proud to extend our support to Children with Cancer UK. As a family company, we recognise the devastating impact that the diagnosis of a loved one with cancer can bring to any home.

"Our values very much align with those of Children with Cancer UK; with this partnership and the creation of GBA Giving, we hope to do our bit to raise both money for and awareness of the outstanding work the charity does.

The in-house fundraiser follows previous actions, including raising cash to cover the flights for scores of seriously ill children to visit Lapland.

And the initiative can be seen by all, with a live tracker on the GBA Giving website featuring the charity’s teddy bear logo, showing where the vehicles are.

For more than 30 years, Children with Cancer UK has funded over 200 research projects and helped fund research centres and respite homes across the country.

GBA also has more than 30 years of operations under its belt, having been founded by Capt Sam Judah MBE when he switched from sailing the cars across the North Sea to handling UK distribution on land.

It was a key partner with Volkswagen Group and ABP in the creation of Grimsby River Terminal, with the town one of the largest handlers of new cars, covering imports and exports.
