Charity concert returns for a second year

The Harvard Krokodiloes. Kula

Back for a second consecutive year, "A Night To Remember" is a fund-raising event which will present a charity concert and a silent auction at Aksra Theatre, Rang Nam Road, on June 3 starting at 7pm.

Promised to be another spectacular evening of passion and purpose, the concert will feature Harvard University's oldest a cappella group, the Harvard Krokodiloes; the award-winning Thai Youth Orchestra; the internationally renowned cross-over band VieTrio; Thai dancers and musicians from the Mercy Centre; as well as a 22-year-old self-taught, blind pianist Somsak "First" Chaima.

Apart from the rousing and inspiring performances, the evening will bring over 30 pieces of artwork for a silent auction. They were created by students from five renowned international schools, namely KIS International School, Astra Academy International School, International School Bangkok, RIS International School (Ratchapreuk Campus) and Shrewsbury International School Bangkok (Riverside Campus).

The works will also be showcased online via anighttoremember.net from May 31, allowing those interested to participate in the silent auction to do so from their homes.

The event is organised by Kula, a company established with the sole purpose to help connect and support worthy causes, in collaboration with music director Akkrawat Srinarong.

Tickets cost 3,888, 4,888 and 5,888 baht per person (8,888 baht for VIP tickets which include an all-you-can-eat and free flow special cocktail reception at Pullman King Power Hotel's Glen Bar, and a special commemorative gift) and can be purchased from megatix.in.th.

All proceeds from ticket and silent auction sales will be donated to the Bangkok Post Foundation and the Mercy Centre's Human Development Foundation.

Both foundations have dedicated decades to supporting thousands of disadvantaged and marginalised children and youths in Thailand.
