Charity bowling party on what would have been West Lothian fundraiser Jak Trueman's 20th birthday

A charity bowling party is being held on what would have been the 20th birthday of charity fundraiser Jak Trueman.

The brave 15-year-old died in 2015 from a rare form of blood cancer, but a charity set up in his name now offers help to cancer patients and their families.

A new Jak's Den facility was opened in West Lothian last July by his mother Allison Barr. In the months before his death, the West Calder High School pupil had dreamed of setting up a centre like it.

Jak's Den are holding a fundraising bowling party on September 22.

The charity says: "This year would’ve been Jak’s 20th Birthday and we can’t think of a better way to mark it than a party at one of his favourite places - Deer Park Bowling."

The party will be at the Deer Park golf and country club with entry £10.
