Charity bin dumpers make another mess

LAZY and inconsiderate charity bin dumpers struck again at Wallsend on Sunday morning, leaving bags of rubbish and broken toys strewn around for at least the fourth time in the past week.

It's become something of an undesirable post-Christmas trend in recent years; people dumping bags of rubbish, boxes and old toys on the ground outside charity bins instead of taking the stuff to the dump.

"The bins weren't full," Wallsend MP Sonia Hornery said. "The people hadn't even bothered, they had just dumped the stuff on the ground. And it is stuff that the charities wouldn't give away anyway." The littering has been reported to police, but the CCTV in the area doesn't cover the bins so it is hoped someone will dob the dumpers in.
