Dog-lovers are being urged to come forward and help Dogs Trust.
The charity is keen to speak with new potential foster carers who are willing to open up their homes and hearts to one of the many dogs we have waiting to find their forever homes.
A spokesperson for Dogs Trust said: “The Home from Home scheme opens the doors for some of the dogs most in need, to spend some time away from the kennel environment and enjoy all the benefits of home life.
“Dogs Trust will provide everything you need to care for your foster dog – all that we ask of you is to provide them with love, comfort and friendship during their stay (and perhaps a tasty biscuit or two!)
“So many of our dogs have already benefited from the Home from Home Scheme, and at this time of year we are especially keen to see as many of our dogs as possible enjoying a cosy foster home.”
Margaret, one of our current foster carers has been fostering for five years and has seen first hand how beneficial fostering can be not just for the dogs:
She said: “I get a lot of pleasure from knowing that I’ve helped give a rescue dog some TLC and then to see them go on to their forever homes is wonderful.”
Fostering can be such a rewarding thing to do and the charity is always so grateful to those generous enough to open their homes to our dogs.
