Charities have received a festive boost thanks to a cash injection from staff at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners’ (CCEP) manufacturing site in East Kilbride.
Achieve More Scotland, Charity Homeless Project Scotland, Blantyre Soccer, Lodging House Mission and Glasgow Human Society have all received donations of £1000 and upwards, thanks to CCEP’s Community Fund.
Now in its third year, the Community Fund enables each of CCEP’s sites in GB to donate £10,000 towards local causes.
In East Kilbride, staff have long-standing relationships with charities like Glasgow-based organisation Achieve More Scotland, which operates within areas of high social deprivation to deliver programmes to improve young people’s physical and mental health, well-being, confidence and self-esteem, including providing activities like dance and sports camps.
Meanwhile, in the outskirts of Hamilton, Blantyre Soccer Academy is using funds from CCEP at one of its local football academies to be able to welcome more young people to participate in the sport, and to further its efforts in providing a safe environment for young people in the Blantyre community.
“It’s important to have the resources to reach as many young people as possible, which is why the funding from CCEP is so vital. It means we can extend our reach to even more young people and continue to provide much-needed support.”
Seamus Kerrigan, Operations Director at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners in East Kilbride added: "At CCEP, we’re truly dedicated to furthering our work in the communities in which we operate.
"We’re a global brand but we’re a local manufacturer, so ensuring we have a positive impact in the local economy and surrounding area is a top priority for us.
"We have a long-standing relationship with many of the organisations here in East Kilbride and the surrounding area, and we plan to build on these partnership and provide the support we can in the years to come through our community fund.”
