A murder investigation has begun after a patient was killed while being treated by doctors at Charing Cross Hospital.
The incident is said to have taken place at the general and teaching hospital in Hammersmith, west London on Thursday, September 18.
Ealing resident Andrew Farmer, 85, was pronounced dead by NHS staff on Thursday, September 25 after sustaining serious injuries.
Anatoliy Podmazko, 70, who was also a patient, was charged on Saturday, September 20 with grievous bodily harm (GBH).
He is next set to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday, October 17. He remains in custody.

The Metropolitan Police said Mr Farmer’s family are being supported by specialist officers.
Mr Farmer’s partner Paul Wrigley said: “My partner through thick and thin for 60 years. Now sadly missed. An Oxford First – whatever he touched, he touched deeply – opera, Devon topography, the underprivileged. Scholarly but with a wry sense of humour. Rest now, my dear friend.”
Detective Inspector Kirsten Hadleigh, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Andrew’s family and friends at this undoubtedly difficult time.
“We remain in close contact with Andrew’s loved ones and are keeping them up to date with the progress of our investigation.”
The incident comes a year after care worker Peter Lindley, 61, was jailed for 13 years after stabbing airline steward Marvie Orbiso at shared accommodation provided by Charing Cross Hospital.
