Charges laid over Qld golf club death

Gregory Harding, 64, was discovered next to a stack of documents at Craignish Country Club. (AAP)

Two men have been charged with murder after the owner and caretaker of a golf club near Hervey Bay was found dead.

Gregory Harding was found dead on Monday at his residence at the Craignish Country Club, a golf club and hotel.

Mr Harding was found after a witness attended the club for routine business but could not find the caretaker.

Police say the 64-year-old was found with a stack of documents near him and his death prompted a murder investigation.

Queensland Police said in a statement on Sunday that two men - a 30-year-old and 25-year-old from Loganlea - were on Saturday taken into custody at Coomera on the Gold Coast.

They have both been charged with murder and will appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
