
POLICE have laid charges after a pursuit that began near Liddell power station yesterday and ended with a truck crash.
Police responded to reports of a white Holden Commodore heading north on the New England Highway in a dangerous manner about 7am on Thursday.
After Newcastle-Hunter Traffic and Highway Patrol started a pursuit about 5km north of the power station, it is alleged the Commodore's driver lost control.
The vehicle collided with a southbound B-double truck.

Paramedics treated the 28-year-old truck driver at the scene for minor injuries, while a 30-year-old man who was driving the Commodore suffered minor injuries.
He was taken to Muswellbrook hospital for mandatory testing.
Police on Friday confirmed they had charged the 30-year-old with nine offences.
He is accused of driving while licence suspended; driving recklessly or furiously or in a speed or manner dangerous; police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly; goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen; and possessing a prohibited drug.
The 30-year-old was formally refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court.
Police said investigations are continuing.
