Charges laid after man found dead inside a home near Kempsey

A 46-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of another man near Kempsey.

A man faced court today charged with murder following the death of another man on the NSW Mid North Coast.

The 46-year-old, allegedly armed with a firearm, walked out of a home on Stewart Place, Euroka, near Kempsey just after 8:30pm last night.

Justin Siemek was arrested without incident.

Police were called to the home just after 6:30pm following reports of a man armed with a firearm.

A 63-year-old man was found fatally wounded inside.

Police said the men were known to each other.

Mr Siemek's lawyer did not apply for bail in the Coffs Harbour Local Court today.

His lawyer requested his client get psychiatric assistance, which was granted by the magistrate.

The matter was adjourned to July 22 in the Kempsey Local Court.
