Charges have been filed against a man who broke into his girlfriend’s West Humboldt Park home last November and shot her in the abdomen, police said.

Tristan Medley, 36, kicked down a door in the 4300 block of West Thomas Street and shot the woman in her abdomen around 10 p.m. Nov. 1, Chicago police said.

The couple had been arguing before he shot her, police said. The woman, 28, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

Medley was arrested Wednesday and charged with home invasion and aggravated battery with a weapon, police said.

He was expected to appear in court later Thursday.
