
A man has been charged after police allege he pointed a firearm at another man and threatened a woman he knew and a police officer in the Upper Hunter.
Hunter Valley police charged the man after they were called to Jersey Place, Muswellbrook about 5.30am Monday following reports a man had allegedly been threatened with a firearm.
Police were told a 38-year-old male had pointed a firearm at another man following an argument.
It is alleged he also made verbal threats toward a woman who is known to him.
The firearm was later found to be a gel blaster, police said, and no one was injured during the alleged incident.
The 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where it is alleged he made threats toward a police officer.
He was charged with intimidate police officer in execution of duty, possess unauthorised pistol, armed with intent commit indictable offence, and two counts stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.
The man was granted bail in Singleton Local Court on Monday to appear at Muswellbrook Local Court on September 27.
