A DRIVER accused of losing control during a burn-out and crashing into another car while intoxicated will face court on Friday.
Brisbane Water police were called to West Street at Umina Beach just before 7pm on Thursday after reports of a collision between a Holden Commodore and Toyota Camry.
Police said the Toyota came to a stop on West Street after damaging the front of a business, while a third parked car nearby was also damaged.
The Toyota driver, 42, was treated at the scene before he was taken to Gosford Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
That vehicle's two passengers, 18 and 12, were not hurt.
Paramedics assessed the 30-year-old man who had been driving the Holden at the scene. He allegedly became aggressive towards police, pushing an officer before his arrest.
He was taken to Woy Woy police station, allegedly returning a breath analysis reading of 0.18.
The 30-year-old was transferred to Gosford Police Station and charged with drive with high-range PCA, assault police officer in execution of duty, interfere with persons enjoyment or risk safety, unlawfully possess number plates, not comply P1 licence - no P plates, use class A vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed, use unregistered registrable class A motor vehicle on road, and drive recklessly/furiously or speed manger dangerous.
"Police will allege in court that the man conducted a burnout before losing control of the vehicle and hitting the Toyota," NSW Police said in a statement.
"It will be further alleged the registration plates on the Holden did not belong to that vehicle."
The Umina Beach man was refused bail to face Gosford Local Court.
Separately, the Westpac rescue helicopter was called to Erina shortly after midnight after reports of a serious motor vehicle accident.
A spokesman said initial reports indicated a vehicle collided with a parked tow truck and a man was suffering serious injuries.
"Once released from the wreckage a 29-year-old male driver suffering multiple traumatic injuries was stabilised by the critical care medical team prior to being flown to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition," the spokesman said.
